About US

ESG movement is a global trend initiated by the United Nations (UN) with the purpose of reconciling economic development with environmental protection. This global movement will go on long term – to keep global warming to no more than 1.5°C – as called for in the Paris Agreement – emissions need to be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. It is the responsibility of everyone on earth to keep global warming down to net zero by 2050, but the awareness of ESG is in its infancy, this is the purpose of this book – promoting the awareness of ESG.

This global movement has been going on for about 25 years, however, the speed of ESG integration in the investment process is still low, due to the market-based impediments, lack of education/knowledge, absence of clear standards and definitions, challenges to consider external effects, missing management and leadership support, behavioral biases, etc. My Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is No. 4 “Quality Education”, I am promoting the awareness of ESG integration through quality education, coaching, training, and consultation

About the founder Elysia Teh, CESGA

I embarked on the journey of ESG when I read this news on August 30, 2022, published by STAR News. I knew ESG as a global movement a long time ago, but I also knew that this was a top-down initiative, if our government did not initiate it, nothing would flow right without enough resources allocation……this long waited initiative finally came, thus without hesitation, I signed up EFFAS-Certified ESG Analyst course.  Why? Because I believe in “doing things right and doing the right things”.  We need legitimate and orthodox education as the strong and solid ESG protocol ground for our Malaysia-specific ESG platform – so that all companies flow and grow healthily in the right direction and on the right ground. As to the legitimacy, ESG was coined and initiated by the United Nations, and EFFAS is the think tank of the Economic and Social Council under the United Nations. Thus, the originality is of the United Nations, and the ESG certification is of EFFAS, which is the only institution that issues legitimate ESG certification in the world.

1. Recent developments in ESG integration
2. Regulatory environment
3. ESG Strategies
4. Responsible investing across asset classes5. ESG Reporting
6. ESG integration in research
7. ESG integration in valuation
8. ESG integration in the investment process

After completing the course, I saw the niche or the missing part in this ESG movement and thus I wrote the book “Discover More about ESG to Improve Sustainability and ESG Rating”……because I discovered that most people do not understand ESG, they simply turn “sustainable development” into ESG, which is inaccurate. We must know that “sustainable development” is NOT “ESG”, but ESG is for sustainable development. The professionals in sustainability may not know ESG, but those who have received legitimate and orthodox education from EFFAS will certainly be clear of”sustainable development”.

Therefore, “Clearing confusion by promoting ESG clarity” has become the first step of my ESG mission. So far, I have initiated some talks and projects with a few entities,  participated in HRDF National Training Week, made a good effort to upload videos to YouTube called “ESG Mentality”, published articles on Linkedin, etc. I also have been providing ESG training to groom a group of Gen Z-Millennials corporate executives, preparing them to take the lead in the ESG movement.
